![]() ![]() Ever since picking up my 200 ~ 500 zoom earlier this year I have been steadily visiting certain places around my home turf where I can put the full 500 mm to use. do they have a “go-fund-me” thing for railfan flat tires? ^) So at $32+ bucks a pop ( pun fully intended) I’m sitting right up and paying attention. And they are NOT covered by my normal ‘road hazard’ feature at Burnett’s. ![]() The problem is I’m running on the original tires that came with the new rig. But to be fair I give Burnett’s all of my tune-up, brake-job, AC work and misc other items of maintenance.īut now with 3 nail episodes in the last 2 weeks it would seem the railfan gods are having great spasms of delight watching the odds catch up with me. I may use this feature in a revolving-door manner. When I buy a set of new tires at my go-to place, Burnett’s Automotive, I always buy the “road hazard” feature. I went almost 2 whole months without catching any nails at all. It seemed like my new ride was immune to picking up those nasty roadway impediments. Secondary gravel roads are a must for getting some of those great shots! After getting my new rig ‘Willie V’ in early May I had very good luck. You just can’t do this hobby proud by keeping exclusively to paved roads. Picking up the ol’ nail-in-the-tire is a curse for any average railfan photographer who is willing go after photography with 100% vigor. ![]()
